Born in Cowra, country New South Wales in 1958.
Ann took up art early, and has been obsessed with painting ever since.
The Morton family always competed in the local show, and Ann found her niche in the art competition, Ann often took months to complete a dozen or more works each year for the show. Working mainly in black and white in the early years, animals, birds, still life and portraits made an amazingly good foundation for a career in art.
Ann's father Ron took this apprenticeship to the next level with his support, encouragement and all important criticism of her work. Ron also found established artist Reg Campbell whose technical advice and mentoring was invaluable.
After leaving school Ann travelled and painted in Asia and Europe soaking up the Art.
Ann has worked successfully as an artist ever since, with many solo and joint exhibitions.
Ann has had her work hung in;
The Archibald Portrait Prize
The Doug Moran Portrait Prize
The Portia Geach Portrait prize
